Jamaica

Jamaica: Columbus had also visited Jamaica, which is located in the Caribbean as were most of the countries he explored and revisited during his expeditions. Columbus had only reached Jamaica, after he left Hispaniola and reached Cuba which he then named Juana. He then explored parts of Cuba; especially the southern coast which he believed was a peninsula rather than an island. Columbus also visited other islands such as Isle of Pines also know as La Evangelista; after visiting the rest of the islands on the way to Jamaica, he reached Jamaica on May 5. Columbus retraced the route he had taken from Hispaniola to Jamaica, through Cuba, Isle of Pines and other small islands, before he returned to Spain.
